To be read in conjunction with NOE SO26/85998 (Blackfriars Road) and ‘D’ Reference D94811
(Waterloo Road).
On Saturday 10 October 2026 a march and a procession will take place.
A ‘National March for Palestine’ will take place in Central London. The group will form up from
12:00 at Victoria Embankment and set off at around 13:00 for a rally being held on Whitehall.
The route will be via Westminster Bridge, Addington Street, York Road, IMAX Roundabout,
Waterloo Bridge, Lancaster Place, Strand and Trafalgar Square.
Whitehall and Parliament Street will be reduced to one lane in both directions from 11:30, then
closed in both directions from 12:30.
Victoria Embankment will be closed between White Lion Hill and Northumberland Avenue from
12:00 to allow for form up.
From 12:30, closures for the march route will be implemented.
Roads will re-open as soon as the march has passed, and it is safe to do so, apart from Whitehall
which will remain closed until the conclusion of the rally at approximately 17:30.
A religious procession, ‘Adoremus’ will also take place from St. George’s Cathedral to
Westminster Cathedral. There are no planned closures, however, temporary traffic holds will be
implemented to allow safe movement of the procession as it passes junctions. The procession is
expected to set off from St George’s Cathedral at 15:00 and arrive at Westminster Cathedral
around 17:00 via St. George’s Road, Lambeth Road, Lambeth Bridge, Millbank, Abingdon
Street, St. Margarets Street, Broad Sanctuary and Victoria Street.
Buses are not to divert unless instructed by SCC, London Buses Officials, or a
Metropolitan Police Officer.
